Nepal is a land-locked Country boarding with China in the North and India in the South, West and East.  Nepal, as a democratic country, glorifies with its diversity in land. languages. cultures, customs and people. It is renowned in the world due to the " Mt. Everest " the highest peak at the same time it is a pious place for Buddhist pilgrims since it is the birth place of Lord Buddha, "The Light of Asia".

Nepal is located between 80 degree to 88 degree East latitude and 26° to 30° North longitude. The total area of Nepal is 1,47,181 sq. km. with a population of 25.6 million representing ethno-diversity. Nepal has a much diversified climate and topographical conditions, comprising of the highest peak of the World like the Mt. Everest and down to 60 meters at Kechna in Jhapa the far East part of Nepal. Nepal occupies 64% in hill region, is formed by the Mahabharat range soaring up to 4877 meters and 17% in Terai region and remaining 19% is Himalayan region covered by snow throughout the year with solitary precipices, rocks and glorious peaks.

Tea In Nepal

Nepal has a long history of Tea cultivation, initiated with the establishment of Ilam Tea Estate in the Hills of Ilam District in 1863 and Soktim Tea Estate in the plains. It is believed that Tea plantation in Nepal started within the same Decade, when it was introduced in Darjeeling Hills of India. Mr. Gajaraj Singh Thapa is the remarkable name in Nepalese tea history who planted tea first time in Ilam District of Nepal. It's the same Geographical and Topographical conditions with an open border to Darjeeling in India.

First Tea Plantation at private Tea sector in terai was established in 1959 and was registered with the name of Bhudhakaran Tea Estate .

Nepal Tea Development corporation was established in1966 by Government of Nepal. The Government of Nepal declared the five districts i.e. Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Terhathum and Dhankuta of the eastern development region as 'Tea Zone' in 1982.

Coffee in Nepal

Coffee is an important beverage of the World. Coffee drinking has became a regular habit of people in many countries and it has also being increasingly popular among Nepalese. Coffee plantation is still a new adventure in Nepal. Approximately the Year 1938 AD, a hermit Mr Hira Giri had bought some seeds of coffee from Sindu Province of Myanmar (the then Burma) and had planted in Aapchour of Gulmi District for the first time in Nepal. Then it spread from one farmer to another as a curiocity plant for about 4 decades.

Respecting the interest of the people on Coffee and favourable climatic conditions for its cultivation. Ministry of Agriculture decided to launch Coffee Development Programme in the country. The Government provided technical and financial support to the farmers, its cultivation has gradually spread to about 39 districts of the middle hills of Nepal. Lalitpur, Gulmi, Palpa, Ahyangja, Kaski, Sidhupalchowk, Kavre, are some districts known for coffee production
